In January 2015 Haringey Council were bullish in boasting about the outcomes from attending MIPIM 2014:
'Many contacts with developers and investors were made and these have been followed up by a number of visits and tours to the Tottenham area.'
Yet, a recent Freedom of Information answer to the question - What Cannes 2014 contacts came to Tottenham? - reveals the claim is not supported by the evidence of the level of interest in visiting the Tottenham sites.
In answering; Haringey Council provided details of eight visits from May 2014 to February 2015, and admitted that no contracts have been signed following any of the tours.
Further, the council concedes: 'These tours were not necessarily due to contacts made at MIPIM 2014 and could be due to contact made elsewhere.'
The cost to the council of the eight tours was £779.68. Some had no cost, while the most costly tour was £258.75. It is likely the costs incurred were for transportation, but no details are provided.
