Just been out to have a look and a police women says there has been an incident. All taped off with police and some people hanging around. Also saw a women in a blanket been driven away, whether this has anything to do with I don't know. I also over heard the police asking some people, "did they have any weapons?". Could be anything, robbery, fight?
We just came back to find the road blocked off... again we asked what had happened and all the police said was 'there had been an incident'. They couldn't even say if it was in a house or in the passage.
It was a stabbing (not a bad one, by the looks of it, but then I'd never seen one until last night). It was a young man (I'd say late teens/early twenties). The stabbing apparently happened elsewhere (I think Wightman Road was mentioned but things were a little hectic, to say the least) and the young man and his friend ran down Effingham. They rang our doorbell looking for a cloth for the wound while they waited for the ambulance and police to arrive. We gave a statement to the police but they didn't ask about weapons. I don't know if this is related to any other activity on the Ladder but would welcome any clarification from the police if they read this. A little scary...
Hadn't even seen this conversation. A lull of a few weeks and now the gangs of youths appear to be back. I'd say these two incidents, just days apart are related ... tit for tat gang activity.
