Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Education in Haringey - a meeting to discuss local educational developments and school improvement

From the Haringey Council Website:

Parents and carers told Haringey Council’s independent education commission 'Outstanding for All' that they wanted better communication with Haringey Council to understand the different types of schools in the borough, discuss school and pupil performance levels, and learn more about the admissions and school place planning processes.

Acting on the feedback, the council has organised a series of public parent and carer meetings taking place in different parts of the borough.

On Monday 31 March 2014 the council is holding two public meetings for parents and carers with children at schools in the central area of the borough, although all parents and anyone with an interest in education in the borough are very welcome to attend.

The schools in the central area of the borough are:

  • Primary: Alexandra, Bounds Green Infant and Junior, Chestnuts, Earlham, Lordship Lane, Noel Park, North Harringay, Seven Sisters, South Harringay Infants, South Harringay Junior, St Aidan’s, St Ann’s CE, St John Vianney RC, St Martin of Porres RC, St Michael’s CE (N22), St Mary’s RC Infants, St Mary’s RC Junior, St Paul’s RC, Stroud Green, Trinity Primary Academy, West Green, Weston Park
  • Secondary: St Thomas More, Woodside High, Heartlands
  • Special: Riverside

The two meetings are taking place at South Harringay Junior School, Mattison Road, London N4 1BD

The first meeting runs from 4pm-5.30pm and the second meeting runs from 6.30pm-7.45pm. By holding two sessions it’s hoped this helps more parents and carers to attend a meeting.

There will also be a free Ofsted registered crèche service for children aged three months to 12 years on site to also make it easier for parents and carers to attend.

If parents and carers would like to use the crèche, please email events@haringey.gov.uk or call the council on 020 8489 5000.

It would also be useful if people could let the council know via events@haringey.gov.uk or 020 8489 5000 if they plan on coming to the meeting and if they have any specific issues they wish to discuss so information can be available on the day.
