It was reported to the police, I didn't hear what the result was.
I wouldn't like to say if they were stolen or not. Apparently someone had a "workshop" there.
I think because of other behaviour there the police have already visited the site.
As the bikes are in bits, as Al said I don't know if the police would be that interested but I can, of course, log it on the Met police site if you think that would be a good idea, Tris.
Well, when I tried to report this via the Met Police website this is the response I got:
The item I've found is of low value or can't be directly identified to a person
"You don't need to report this to us.
Please make reasonable enquiries to try to find the owner, these could include asking people nearby or in offices or shops. You could also consider leaving a note with your details.
If you can't find the owner there's nothing more we can do and you should dispose of the item."
This was after going through a questionnaire about where I found it and what the nature of the item was.
Bikes For Good Causes on 350 High Road, London N22 8JW or The Rockstone Workshop at 335 Lordship Lane N17 6AB might be interested in these. Both are good social enterprises that would be worthy causes to receive these as donations.
We've witnessed a lot crack dealing going on and their favoured mode of transport is bicycles. Often then will interchange between laps to look inconspicuous. They need somewhere to stash bikes and I have seen evidence of other stashes with parts not unlike this.
Is this in St Anns?
