Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Does anyone else remember Ahmet Paytak. Ahmet use to work at Local Savers food and wine (next to Danube) and unfortunately he and his son were gunned down at the weekend in Hornsey. I would just like to say that he was one of the nicest blokes on Green Lanes and always treated me with the upmost respect (and a kiss on the hand can make anyone's day). I know he will be missed by many.

Very, very sad and shocked to hear this. I remember him clearly from when I lived in one of the flats above his shop. He was always courteous and friendly, whatever time of day or night and no matter how bizarre the requests! I will certainly miss him.
It was in hornsey road, holloway.
Forgive my ommission of the word "rd" but I was more concerned about the incident then the location.
Ok Emma.
It does matter though.
Very sad news. I'm sorry Emma that not all of the responses you received were exactly sympathetic.
don't be a snot
I agree Sandra - its hard to believe. I thought this website was about being a community and having the means to express your feelings and pass on information to other Harringay residents. It saddens me that some people can be so nit picky at such a sad story.
I agree Emma. I don't think James means to be unkind. I'd imagine that pretty much all of use here, Including James I'm sure, share your sense of shock and sadness and would offer our condolences to the family.
Emma, have a look at this post by Sandra indeed have a read through the whole discussion where we have discussed your points in more detail. Also you are free to feedback to Hugh or myself if you are unhappy about aspects of the site. We are unmoderated but we do try and ask that people keep the tone inclusive and respectful and will do our best to tackle anything that doesn't help that aim (can't always promise it will succeed, but we have found on the whole that people are very reasonable when spoken to directly and understand what we are trying to do)
As suggested I have read the other post and can appreciate your comment. I too will try not to take things to heart and if necessary talk directly to yourself or Hugh if I feel the need. Thank you again I do enjoy this forum and hope to contribute more in the future.
He was a very very friendly man, he worked at my local shop when I lived on the 'Gardens' so I saw him very often and he would always shake your hand and give a smile. I was new to the area and he made me feel very welcome in Green lanes. If only there were more people like Ahmet Paytak in Harringay than the usual childish and irritating idiots we have to put up with.
Ahmet Paytak will be sadly missed
