I'm hoping for some advice on a problem which seems to be escalating. There is a group of people who drink regularly on the pavement at the end of the road, day and night, and leave their rubbish behind as well as a lot of urine and occasional vomit. The crowd is growing and now there is now some very obvious drug dealing and taking happening as well. The group has spread into the front garden of a vacant property for sale.
I've reported it to the police (101 number) and Front Line services at the council. Is there anything else I should/can do?
Many thanks for any advice.

SN team also said it's really helpful to keep a written log of what you see (no risk to yourself of course). They need to build up a picture of what is going on to take action so times, dates and despriptionsbare all helpful - so I was told.
Thanks for that Polly. I still feel rather sceptical that even with loads of evidence no action will be taken or that these guys and women will just get a nice chat and carry on regardless. It feels like we just have to accept this now as the norm somehow. But let's give it a try....
If I have the picture right, it sounds like they're creating a nuisance rather than committing a crime. I know little about the issue, but it sounds like an issue that could be dealt with under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.
As I understand it, this would entail collaboration between the police and the Council in the creation of a dispersal order. It sounds like a bit of work is involved. I'd say the only way to move this on is to get the support of the Council via your local councillor/s. Have you spoken to the Gardens Residents Association?
Thanks Hugh.
There is a fine line sometimes between nuisance and a crime. I guess these days urinating in public (even defecating) is not a crime (it used to be classified as indecent exposure??) Littering is meant to lead to fines, is that something to do with bye-laws? But no-one round here ever gets done for that do they otherwise there wouldn't be so much rubbish constantly on our streets. Drug taking I suppose has been toned down but dealing in drugs surely is still a crime? Just a thought but I'm no expert. Just get really upset by all of this as a resident and member of the community.
Dealing drugs is definitely criminal, and it's also happening at the end of my street quite blatantly.
Thanks Hugh, more good ideas, thank you. It's worth trying all these things.
Thanks for this Polly, another good suggestion. Thank you.
Not much of a fix, but I have a power washer which connects to a big water bottle (i.e. doesn't need a tap, just a power plug). You are welcome to borrow it if you'd like to do a bit of a DIY cleanup to get rid of the worst of the smell. Wear overalls though, as there's degree of splashback....
Thanks, we may well take you up this offer. Very kind of you!
