Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi All,

Cavendish Road has had a dog problem for a long time but it seems to be going from bad to worse. It's everywhere, big, smelly, never cleared up and it's driving me mad.

I caught a dog in the act a couple of months ago, followed it home and sent a photo & the address to the council. They said he was a repeat offender and they would warn him again.

3 months on, and there are a few new "no fouling" signs but the problem is even worse.

I've now got the 'Our Harringay' app and have reported again. My upstairs neighbours are going to do the same - would anyone care to join me on a reporting campaign to show that we have HAD ENOUGH?

Thanks for any support.

Jesse

If we're thinking of the same person he's been reported a lot..... We're not on cavendish any more but have been the victim of this many times!

Thanks for your reply! It's so frustrating that the council seems to have no meaningful sanctions on hand, such that people feel they can make even more mess without clearing it up. I feel sorry for the dogs cooped up in the upstairs flat (but of course even sorrier for the rest of us who have to deal with the consequences).

We also have a regular offender in Warham who takes his dog down the road very early in the morning. As I'm an early riser you've inspired me to keep reporting it. Also, judging by the last steaming mound I had the misfortune to step into, this particular hound doesn't seem to have a particularly health diet.
Eek, I was hoping this was only a problem on cavendish! Glad you're inspired to report though, it's just not on.

Same here on Chesterfield Gardens. Nearly always 2 or 3 unpleasant 'surprises' on the North side.

Hi Jesse, I've also reported the same man on Cavendish Road (3 'free range' dogs) to the council hotline at least 5 times. Am happy to get involved in any concerted effort. My lowest point came whilst cleaning a particularly vile poo from my front path so I could the kids to school...his hound watched me do that while crapping on pavement on the other side of the road. The owner was nowhere to be seen of course. Mel

I would suggest getting the ASBO team involved.

Hi both, sad you've had bad experiences too. How does one get the asbo team involved?
If you are all certain it is the same person., I suggest you each make a separate complaint to the ASBO team and the SNT. Contact the council and ask for the number.

I'll add Vale Road to the list of blackspots! Roughly the same spot every morning, so some hound that goes for its morning stroll and can only hold it for so long. I applaud his consistency if nothing else.

A few neighbours have complained, but other than a new sign on one lamppost, I can't see that anything has changed. It often takes a couple of days to be cleaned up too.

ah well you can also add my whole route to Seven Sisters station every morning... It's particularly bad on Culvert road (not Harringay, I know), but the whole walk is more of an attempt to dodge dog crap than anything else... and as eveyone else has said it's always in the same spots!

Would you consider reporting it? It's really easy with the app and it's something we really shouldn't have to put up with.
