Any idea what it is / was?

As far as I remember, it used to have MAYNARDS in big white letters on it. I saw it from the bus going from Woodberry Down to Tottenham.

It's a factory chimney,  for a boiler burning coal, to supply power and heat. As a kid in Lancashire 60 years ago I could see 20 from my bedroom windows. 

Similar thing opposite my parents home in Leeds only it's square shaped.

In some places chimneys are listed for some architectural reason or other and cannot be removed. In this case I suspect its utility as a mobile mast is seeing it ease into the 21st century without feel or demolition

It's the chimney of Maynards sweet factory in vale Road. My dear mum worked there in the 50’s and would bring home bags of misshapen chocolates.

Why has my reply dated 15 March been deleted and who did it?

I wrote:

"An explanation please."

This reply appeared on latest activity but has now been deleted.

COULD I HAVE AN EXPLANATION FOR THIS CENSORSHIP.
