Reason for the question is my book group has just read a Mankell novel about the detective Wallander (first time I've read crime though seen plenty of tv) and I was struck by the simple writing style, almost like Easy Read, very short sentences and limited vocab. What I am wondering is did Mankell write like this or is this what the translator chose to do?
