Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hey all.

Any thoughts on how to dispose locally of dozens of old paint cans that aren't quite empty?

No quips about dumping in the New River or outside the nearest unofficial collection point, please...

Apparently you can't even pay to get these taken off your hands, as I tried to do this via a bulky items collection through Veolia.

Taking paint cans on buses is a no-no, I've tried. Also I can't carry them.

We don't drive.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I have this same problem. I called the council and was told to take them to re-use in Tottenham Hale. Lke you, I don't have a car.

I think this sums up Haringey Council's commitment to environmentalism. #fail

Yup, that was their suggestion! They claimed not to know that paint is not allowed on public transport - and while this rule isn't always enforced, it is a genuine rule and I have been forbidden from boarding because of it in the past!

We really are sitting in a lot of clutter because of this :(

That would really be incredibly useful - I'll PM you.

They take them at the Harringay Recycling Centre on Mary Neuner Road. Where are you ? I have a car ( boo, hiss ) and could help.
