Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The following has been removed from a posting about an incident on Pemberton Road since I do not feel that posting is an appropriate place for this discussion. I am however happy to respond to any concerns here

I would like to add that there needs to be more professionalism from admin on this site. The lack of it has been very worrying. If you want to run a site porporting to represent and serve this community it must be done so with the upmost integrity.

I posted something supportive of Matt's situation (but not his position) early in this thread but he asked me to take it down. I don't think he wants my help. Maybe that's why it looks like a public flogging to you.

Please come along on Tuesday night if you can, it looks like it will just be drinks. We could even crash thebiggreenbookshops party.
I will probably go to the pub with John on Tuesday from 9.30 and drink beer and remind myself that actually I'd just like a beer with me neighbours. James, are you coming? Anyone else?
Would that be am or pm, Liz?!
At this bloody rate, I'll be banging on the door at 8am.
Tom, how would you have handled it?

Matt chose to make his complaint publicly. I didn't name him as in a name and shame. He made a public statement by which I'm sure he stands. He's not seeking to hide it. I can't see any abuse of position since all I did was to exercise the same right as any member - to start a post. It was different in no way to any post started by any member. (For this reason I don't understand John's concern about there being a "look what I can do" aspect about my starting this post. What I did anyone can do.)

Once the comment was made by Matt, I saw four choices:

1. Not to respond.
2. To respond on a very sensitive thread.
3. To respond on another thread.
4. To respond privately.

I felt that the second was inappropriate, and the first I discounted since it is important that with a public complaint, the reasoning behind our actions is publicly presented. I hope you would not propose that everyone has the right of reply, the right to state their case, except site admin. The fourth option I also discounted for the same reason as the first.

What would you advise me to do next time Tom?
tom said: It looks like a public flogging / name and shame. no it doesn't, Matt posted openly..

I really don't know what all the fuss is about.. I've ignored this thread for most of the day, because it's not going anywhere.. Just the same unwarranted gripe being chewed over and over.. I've have had things removed in the past, I've found out today that others had too.. end of story - get over it..

If Matt likes playing the victim that's his problem
Ok, this topic's had a good enough airing and It'd be a shame if the site gets consumed by navel gazing. Most members come for content, not for this type of discussion. So, as Tom Suggested, if you want to carry on, let's do it elsewhere. About a month ago I set up a HoL Get Satisfaction Account. A great place for this type of discussion.
