Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Councillor Tammy Hymas' email address is Tammy.Hymas@haringey.gov.uk

That's Tammy.Hymas@haringey.gov.uk. Not what's on the council website today.

Thanks Gordon T, for the clarification.

But weeks have past now. And I checked early this Monday morning and there was still a public webpage giving the email for Tammy Hymas with the extra numeral 1. Which may not work to deliver emails  accurately.and promptly to Cllr Hymas.

It could perhaps re-open the door for more complaints of: "She doesn't answer emails".

Of course Tammy Hymas may have sgreed to two working email addresses. You're in touch with her and presumably can ask?

Hey Gordon (and Alan),

Just to let you know, I was initially provided with the email tammy1.hymas@haringey.gov.uk however, I requested for this to be changed as it was proving confusing and quite a few people were typing in firstname.surname and getting a bounce back!

The good news is that my email address was changed to tammy.hymas over the weekend, though it took a while for my councillor page to be updated.

The really good news is that this has now been done also - so you can email me at tammy.hymas@haringey.gov.uk and I will aim to respond to residents within reasonable timeframes.

Sorry for the long winded explanation - but appreciate you raising it here!

Hi Tammy,

I'm glad the website is now properly updated with your Councillor page email accurate at last.
All this problem should not have happened.
Unkind people outside are only too ready to enjoy blaming councillors for their own or the system's failings.

People and Political Parties have widely different ideas of what Councillors' roles should be.

Partly dependent, on some of these factors:
their own previous Council experiences; outside jobs; their Party and Group posts; particular subject interests. Also the pressures of their own local wards, and whether ward colleagues carry a fair share of the work.

Maybe there are one or two up-to-date books or practical studies which are helpful tackling these issues. I confess I never looked or asked. Which was unwise or silly.
Instead I just drew from my own former work places. Luckily, a few experienced and wise Councillor colleagues gave me sound informal help.
Other longstanding councillor colleagues appeared to know little or nothing. Or knew stuff and didn't want to or know how to share.

Good luck!
