Council Cabinet Member for Finance Stands Down over “Imprudent” Budgetary Decisions

Former Guardian journalist Dave Hill has reported on his On London website that Patrick Berryman has has made a protest resignation as the cabinet member for Finance on Haringey Council.

According to Hill's report, Berryman stood down from his post, claiming that “imprudent” budgetary decisions have been taken “over my head” and that manifesto pledges have been “watered down or ignored”. The resignation additionally expressed unhappiness at the 'arbitrary sacking' of two other cabinet colleagues.
