It has just been announced that funding has been secured from the council for the complete re-development of the open space between Falkland & Fairfax Rds (Fairlands Park).
Excellent news for our community.
You can see the plans here. Work should be completed by the end of 2009.

Thanks Liz. It's been a huge effort from a lot of people, particularly Paul Formosa (Community Development officer), Groundwork staff and members of the Friends group. Persistence has paid off. :)
Congratulations indeed - real progress.
So, Fairlands Park it is then. But I'm sure it'll be known colloquially as The Grassy Knoll ('Occasional politicians on the stump, look out and up!')

This is truly fantastic news
It is very strange though, that this was announced to everyone on a small photocopied political party A5 flyer posted through front doors! Did everyone on the Ladder get one today through their door?
We also don't know at this stage how much of the £250,000 quoted on the flyer has come directly from Haringey Council.
Yes I got this flyer. Much as I'm OK with getting these things I was a bit peeved to see the Labour party taking credit for it when I know Matt had a lot to do with it too. Matt I think you should join the Labour party then you might get some credit.
