Costs of Baby Sitters
Hello, we have agreed with a friend of ours who has had her hours reduced at work that we will offer her some baby sitting but none of us know the going rates at the moment.
Can anyone tell me what they pay?

Sitters from agencies generally ask for about £7 an hour and £7.50 on Fridays/Saturdays.

Haha! I was thinking about posting the same question a few weeks ago. So here's my answer but look forward to hearing from others too.
We employ a 16 year old now and then to babysit one child of 7. She babysat the other evening from 7 until 11 and I gave her £25.
Not sure if that is generous or stingy but she seems happy

Maybe look at National Minimum Wage Rates and set your rates accordingly?
By those standards, Louisa, you are not being stingy :)

£10/hrs generally, a little less for mate's rates.
