Anyone got a cunning plan to contact HMRC. I just want to get a confirmation that my tax return has been received(after almost 3 months) My Government Gateway ID isn't recognised and I've been waiting on the phone for 15 minutes!

If you submitted your return on line you should have received an instant acknowledgement.
You might have seen a report the other day that 25% of calls to HMRC are never answered. And now we go into the holiday period

There was a suggestion the BBC website back in January that Tweeting gets you a faster response.
