Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Govia Thameslink are currently doing a consultation on changes to services from May 2022:

https://www.thameslinkrailway.com/timetableconsultation

"This consultation follows the completion of the East Coast Main Line upgrade and relates to train services operated by GTR. Proposed changes are referred to later in this document as ‘May 2022 timetable’. The consultation, and proposed changes, are run in line with other operators that also serve the East Coast Main Line."

They aren't currently consulting on Sunday services (it would be great to have more than one train per hour from Finsbury Park to Blackfriars & Brighton on a Sunday!), apparently this comes later.

The consultation closes on 5th August 2021.

Well the Mon-Fri off-peak proposed timetable is just perverse.

Pre-Covid, two out of four trains per hour from Welwyn called at Hornsey and Harringay and omitted Welham Green and Brookmans Park (WG & BP) further up the line. The other two swapped this, omitting Hornsey and Harringay but calling at WG & BP.

In May 2022 all four trains will call at WG & BP but only two of them at Hornsey & Harringay. Even more pointlessly, those that don't are allowed the same journey time between Ally Pally and Finsbury Park as those that do call. Why, I'll be asking GTR.

For completeness, pre-Covid all four trains per hour from Hertford North called at Hornsey and Harringay, and that will resume - no change.

Thanks michaelw for the alert.
