Connect with Nature: Discover spring colours and natural pattern at St Ann's Green Spaces (Thurs 3rd March)

The Friends of St Ann's were delighted to return to the wonderful green spaces of St Ann's hospital last week for four more Connect with Nature sessions that are all about celebrating the coming of Spring.

We walked in the Peace Garden and investigated what was growing there, looking for new growth, bud bursts, buds and green shoots.

We listened and looked for birds who were active in the branches of the trees and took a little time to find out what the storms had shaken down from their heights.

As always we spent a little time activating all our senses and spending quiet moments, as well as doing some gentle qigong with Sara at the end of the walk.  This is just a taster of some of the things we did on last week's wander around the green spaces of St Ann's.

On Thursday 3rd (this week) we will head out again to see what difference a week has made to the advance of spring. There will be an emphasis on natural colours and patterns which we are hard-wired to respond to and trying to trigger a little awe and wonder at the extraordinary in the ordinary.

Join us from 2pm at Mayfield House (just inside the main gates and turn right) to walk, talk, do a little nature study and some gentle mental and physical exercises. As our pace is slow we can accommodate anyone with mobility issues, we welcome adults caring for the under 5s and we welcome you whether you have no knowledge of the natural world, a little knowledge or a lot as this is a collaborative drop in where we pool our knowledge, thoughts and ideas to help us connect with nature.

Refreshments will be available at the end of the walk
