Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The Comic Relief scheme is provided by Comic Relief and administered locally in London boroughs by the London Community Foundation. This is the second phase of the 'Local Communities' programme that will run for two years between 2011-13.

The programme provides grants for community projects and sports projects that empower local people and enable them to make lasting change in their communities.

The following organisations are eligible to apply: residents' associations, community centres and groups, social enterprises, community interest companies, and credit unions. Projects should be run by people directly affect by the issues being dealt with and priority will be given to small, locally-based groups or organisations in areas of disadvantage, that have a clear understanding of the needs of their community.

Funding can be used for a wide range of projects including (but not limited to): community sport activities, furniture projects, projects providing access to benefits advice, projects combating fuel poverty, community consultation activities, community employment projects, food co-ops, general project running costs, and training staff or volunteers.

Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available, and the application deadline for this round of funding is 8th June 2012
