The
Haringey Federation of Residents' Associations has just circulated the following:
After a meeting with Niall Bolger he provided us with some information about the current situation with the icy roads and gritting:
- Grit ordered on 21st Dec – order was not fulfilled
- Grit bins should be replenished 3 - 4 times a day
- Residents are able to use grit from grit bins
- Direct contact is continuing with known vulnerable residents and meals on wheels services to ensure services are continuing.
- Emergency planning – a 'lessons learned' process will take place after the cold snap and a draft winter service plan will go to cabinet in March.
- Recycling services are currently 1 week behind.
- Refuse collections are also behind schedules – Niall Bolger will provide us with up-to-date information on this shortly.
- Enterprise staff have been diverted to clear roads and pavements.
- Harringay Ladder roads – in liaison with the Police and in reaction to residents wishes roads were closed. Re-opened on Friday.
- Local shops will not face litigation if they clear paths outside their premises.
