Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Clarion Housing - Green Lanes development opp Beans & Barley back on

A substantial housing development that was given planning permission back in 2015, but stalled for some reason, is now back on. Clarion Housing Group are in the driving seat.

A few questions come to mind;

* when will development begin?
* are there any significant differences to the original plan?
* what if anything will be provided for retail space/other use such as the NHS centre last proposed?

If anyone has any further information, including our councillors, please add.

Where did you learn of this, Matt?

There is a board up on the site saying 'acquired for housing.'

Sorry won't directly answer your question as I dont know this specific development. Most large developments are stalled when the landowner (HA) is in process of merging. The new organisation legally completed last year so post-restructuring seem to be re-booting development. If the landowner never implemented the 2015 planning application, they would also need to start soon otherwise 3 yr rule kicks in & planning application becomes lapsed. And then they would need to review the old application. Im assuming like most developing organisations, they will avoid additional expenditure of a new or changed application unless it's revisiting the original viability of a scheme i.e Affordable housing and community facilities as this "cost" most so until such an event they will need to build out the scheme approved by the Council

Thanks for posting this. The planning permission was given in 2016. I went with many local residents to the Planning Committee to oppose the application on grounds of height, rights of light and other reasons which residents had worked so hard to assemble.

I just went on the Clarion website but couldn't see anything about this. I think I will write to Clarion to ask them and also check if Planning know anything about it. I will post what I find out!

Probably something very much like this

They have made some fast progress in last 48 hours!

Found the plans on council website - appears to be NHS centre & housing development.

Very busy! Photo;

Going, going ....

Oh wow, they really have made progress.

Wonder what they're going to do with that bldg on the right of the photo, air extraction for the Picadilly line. Not only is it ugly, it's quite noisy early hours when there's little or no traffic on GL. Guess the new apartments will have double glazing.
