Hi guys, I was hoping to go to china city in the near future as I'm a new resident. A friend of mine has said some terrible things about the restaurant. Had anyone been and would you recommend it?

I found China City to be fine for Anglicised, gloopy Chinese food (which, let's face it, most of us crave on the odd occasion), but a few months ago I peered into the kitchen and it seemed a bit gross, to be honest.
For takeaway, I recently ordered from Garden House (http://gardenhouse-finsburypark.co.uk/) and it was great - hot, fresh, and we managed to get a couple of meals out of it! Plus the service was good - the food took the full 40mins to arrive as we ordered at a busy time, and the guy was incredibly apologetic.
