Changes to our Neighbourhood Policing

Haringey Police today introduced a new system of 'Integrated Neighbourhood Policing Teams'.

Haringey Borough will be divided into four clusters. Within these clusters will be a combination of Safer Neighbourhoods Wards and new Neighbourhood Policing Teams who in combination will be described as an Integrated Neighbourhood Policing Team. Each cluster will be managed by an Inspector and are broken down as follows:

• Central Cluster (Inspector Mark Hembury) Hornsey / Noel Park / Stroud Green / Harringay
• West Cluster (Inspector Adrian Ball) Highgate / Crouch End / Muswell Hill / Fortis Green / Alexandra
• North Cluster (A/Inspector Mike Tisi) Bounds Green / Woodside / White Hart Lane / Northumberland Park / Tottenham Hale
• South East Cluster (Inspector Maurice Hutchinson) West Green / St Ann’s /Seven Sisters / Tottenham Green / Bruce Grove

Each Ward will maintain its Safer Neighbourhood resourcing structure of one Sergeant (some shared), two Constables and three Community Support Officers providing a visible and accessible team.

Their role will still be to provide long-term, local solutions to local problems while maintaining a focus on reducing priority crime and to give local communities a say in deciding the priorities for the area in which they live.

Each new cluster will be supported by a Neighbourhood Policing Team whose role is to:

• Support Safer Neighbourhood Wards by providing extra resources for priority problems.
• Provide a taskable resource for crime hotspots.
• Identify and deliver fast-time on community intelligence (Op Hawk).
• Work with SN Wards and Schools on delivering Borough & MPS community promises.
• Operate every day between 8am and midnight.
• Each team will consist of approximately 20 Officers, led by 2 Sergeants.
