Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Cat support needed
I am looking for a local person who can help with my 13year old cat Gypsy. She has just been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and will need to take a tablet every day for the next three weeks. I can't explain how stressful this is as she seriously won't even let me near her to put flea ointment on her neck! At the vets she turns into the most placid subservient being. I'm looking to pay a confident cat lover who can come administer her drugs. Anyone up for it? I'm Muswell Hill, Colney Hatch Lane.

One of my cats is on this for life now. Even the vet has trouble giving her pills, so we have got the medication in a different form - it is a cream in a click dispenser with a soft tip. It has to be applied inside her ear twice a day. Because it does not smell (unlike flea drops which are also a nightmare for her) and because most cats don't mind having their ears touched, it is a great success. Worth asking about if your cat needs medication beyond the 3 weeks. Good,luck!

I usually find it works well if you can crush the pill into a powder and mix it into a small amount of wet food.

Unfortunately the thyroid tablet needs to be consumed whole - I guess that's why its administration is more of a problem.
