Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Haringey Council's annual Carer of the Year award has been launched.

Nominations can be from individuals, groups or organisations. They must be for an unpaid carer aged 18 or over who looks after someone who is also over 18.

Nomination can be made by downloading a form from the Carer of the Year page or by completing an online nomination form.

Cllr Dilek Dogus, Cabinet Member for Adults and Community Services:

"The Carer of the Year award is our way of thanking the thousands of carers in Haringey.

"They carry out their caring responsibilities out of sight. The award highlights their tremendous dedication and shows that they haven't been forgotten."

The deadline for nominations is Thursday 19 May, with the winner announced on 15 June during national Carers Week.

This is the fifth year of the award. This year the award is sponsored by Maison Moti - an independent specialist provider of accommodation, social care and support services for adults with a diagnosed mental health condition.

It is estimated that there are around 16,000 unpaid carers in Haringey.
