Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Careers Day for young people is being hosted in Stroud Green to help give them better options for their future.

Young people aged between 14 and 25 are invited to Hornsey Vale Community Centre, in Mayfield Road, Hornsey, to get free information and advice about jobs, careers, education courses, youth groups and leisure activities in the area.

The event, held on February 18, has been organised by Stroud Green Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT), in partnership with Haringey Council, after officers identified antisocial behaviour among young people as one of the ward's biggest challenges.

Sergeant Bob Stevenson, of Stroud Green SNT, said: "We want to help our young people get involved in the vast range of activities available to them.

"By showing them what is out there, we are encouraging them to get involved in constructive activities and steering them away from negative influences."

The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (CHENEL), Haringey Sixth Form Centre, Middlesex University, London Fire Brigade and London Underground Apprenticeships are some of names from the education or employment sector that will attend.

Adivsors will also be on hand to help with CV writing so young people are urged to bring their details with them.

There will be free refreshments and advisors will be available to assist with CV writing, so bring all details with you on the day.

All visitors who register their details on arrival will be entered into a prize draw.

The event runs between 2pm and 5pm at Hornsey Vale Community Centre, 60 Mayfield Road, N8 9LP.
