Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

They have been there a week now and there are more now than when they first arrived.

Does anyone know whether the council has done anything about the issue yet?

Yes social housing is desperately needed however with the projects that the council is involved at the present they appear more interested in doing deals with mega rich corporations without insisting on the much needed social housing that could really make a diference.

Meanwhile other councils who historically provided more sites for travellers e.g.Camden and who have not been closing them find that they work well.

"in the knowledge that the travellers can, er.....'travel'." not if they have kids at school etc, and links with the area and community for generations.

I gather then Maggie, you would be quite happy with such a site next to your property?, I'm sure that it would 'work well'.

Sarah, have you not spoken and written to the council to report this?

Yes on Wednesday. Apparently someone will call me back. I find have much hope. The switchboard operator asked if I had spoken to anyone from Homes for Haringey about this, but I was calling the council according to the advice on the Homes for Haringey website....
And at a leaseholder drop in in July I raised the anti-social behaviour. I've since been invited to another drop in - I responded to say I was busy and still hadn't had a response from the first one!

I'd still keep calling them and submit forms online so you have it in writing

Someone called me today. They might pass it to police.

why don't you call the police yourself? have you got the local number? we had a leaflet with the local police details but we live near green lanes. if it intimidates you and it is disturbing it's a police matter too

It doesn't intimidate me so much as stops me from sleeping
They left the other day. They took some of their rubbish with them.
