Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

They have been there a week now and there are more now than when they first arrived.

Does anyone know whether the council has done anything about the issue yet?

They're only 'halting' for a few days, that way their kids can do their homework and the parents can fill in their tax-returns.
The "kids" are sleeping in a van outside my flat. They finish drinking and go to bed around three am. But not before running the engine for half an hour to warm the van up.
2:10am and right on cue, Traveller lads shouting under my window, car engine running. They are talking about getting a taxi and coming back. Great.
2:55 and they're back. Music playing, shouting, car engine running.

Not sure -- they acted pretty swifty the last time in happened. They entered via the large double gates at the junction of Downhills Park Road and Downhills Way/Belmont Road. The bollard had been removed. The last but one 'visit' caused chaos and damage to the grass and park generally.

The Council probably won't do anything, in view of the large number of posts on HOL recently supporting the Travellers' way of life

The council won't do anything in providing the pitches that were promised after closing 2/3 of rentable regulated council pitches in recent years.

Maybe the promised land was used for much-needed social housing instead, in the knowledge that the travellers can, er.....'travel'.

Where's POTUS when you need him?

Indeed. It's about time we had some more schooling from our HoL Social Justice Warriors about how any classification of people is "racism"--coal miners, bus drivers, personal assistants--an inexhaustible list.

Criticise any and be reported to the police for a hate crime.  No need to miss the Stasi hanging around here.

Hiya Mavic, howdy Knavel. I'm here. How can I be of assistance?
Well that was boring... Zzzzzzzzzzzz
