Hi,
my car wouldn't start the other day (mondeo diesel). After initial inspection by the guy that does my servicing, it all seems to point to a diesel pump.
He has told me that the repair is too complex for him to undertake (he is an honest guy) and recommended that I take it to a specialist in diesel.
If I take it to the Ford garage, I fear I will have a bill twice the cost of the car. However, and given that my regular guy is not keen to try and do a bodge, I am not sure that any mechanic around green lanes or whightman road will do a better job.
Can anyone recommend someone (hopefully within easy reach from Harringay)?
Thanks

Andover motors are very good. If you call them, they'll tell you if they can fix it or give you a recommendation, Tel 0207 354 1953.
Justine,
thanks for the recommendation. They didn't waste my time, told me straight off the bat that I really needed a diesel specialist as any normal mechanic won't have the materials to diagnose and undertake works properly. Unlike another local garage that told me to bring it in anyway, though it's unlikely they would have had the tools.
They recommended one in Hackney (there's not many around). I called them and over the phone they told me what's the likely part and cost, when to take it in and how long to fix it. They are called Goods Diesel Pumps.
I'll see how it goes.
