A car exploded on corner of Stanhope Gdns/ Green lanes about 3.50pm. Really hope none hurt but didn't see ambulance, just firemen. Think it was electric fault with car. Since then no internet or landline. BT say will be fixed by Weds. That's not good for all us working at home. Anyone else having this problem?

Morning all.
Landline is back. Do people have broadband back? Mine still not working. But I've got a message from BT to say they will switch off my mini hub soon though I only got it yesterday. What's all that about?
I also have the landline back, but not the broadband.
I have also had this update from "High Level Escalations - Customer Resolutions" at OpenReach given to David Lammy:
"Hello David
I have had engineers onsite last night and back onsite today to start reconnecting the residents following the disconnection of the electrical supply.
I am waiting on further updates to confirm that services have been restored and I will be back in touch.
When they have completed the required works batteries will be used to provide the power to the broadband equipment in the cabinet until the power can be reinstalled
I will be monitoring and escalating throughout"
Thanks Michaelw for that update. Clearly they listened to an MP but didn't think much of our complaints. Fingers crossed then for it all to be ok. A lot of activity down there this morning.
FYI, talking to the two guys working there a few minutes ago they said that the landlines should all be on now, and they hope that the broadband will be on by Friday.
Much better news than Nov. 17th... That's good to know.
Internet is back at last!
(at least in our house and one other)
Wow! Can't believe it.
Thanks for letting me know. I can unhook the little mini hub I've been using.
All fixed here too!
Onto compensation matters now....
BT just phoned me and offered a measly £23 compensation for nearly 11 days of no service.
This can't be right can it?
She mentioned that it would usually be £8 day compensation but open reach put it down as matter being control or something
Can anyone help and how you guys getting on in terms of compensation?
Thanks for that tip off about compensation. BT haven't phoned me. I'll have to face calling them I guess. I also went through all the hassle of changing my contract to Halo to get a mini -hub which I've had a few days but is now redundant. And I have to pay more for that contract. In a dilemma about cancelling new contract...
Appreciate it was a rare type accident and nobody is too blame.
But they didn't care to offer me the mini-hub to tide me over and they could have done a better job at getting the power network on site sooner instead of waiting for such a long time.
Will persist further by phoning BT
