Does HOL draw a line between covert advertising for commercial purposes and covert canvassing for ward councillor elections?
Yes and no.

That's to say we have (or will soon have) policies on both. You'll see that the HoL Group meeting on Tuesday has HoL & elections as item 4 on the agenda. All welcome to attend.

Reading Matt's post earlier also prompted me to send an email to all local politicians inviting them to discuss the website and elections. If the past performance of most of our local councillors is anything to go by, I'm not expecting to be flooded with responses to that mail however!
Thanks Hugh. Was just wondering 'aloud'! Afraid I didn't read B2's Agenda very carefully. See y'all on Tuesday.
Slightly off topic but the Lib Dems are on the prowl tonight on the Ladder so get your no hawkers sign up quick smart.
Love it, Birdy_too! (-D
I should add that we Conservative have already selected our first candidate for Harringay Ward. His name is Tim Caines and he lives in the ward. We are selecting in stages.
Thank you Justin. Looking forward to knowing of your other 2 candidates. Also the idea is to know a little about each one. Come election most of us don't have a clue who's putting themselves up for election. So a little intro will be good. And that goes for every candidate of course.

@OAE; no covert canvassing going on in my case with this thread. You just relax there Eddie!

@Birdy; getting a shocking number of pieces of paper thru the letter box from LBs saying something about 'Save our Trees from Campaign mailouts'.
No Matt. Wasn't thinking of you! But if you do stand you'll have my vote.
Thought you meant canvassing on behalf of other councillors. :)
Hi, Matt. I'm sure, nearer the time, there will be a seperate page with all the biogs of all the candidates contesting Harringay and, maybe, St. Ann's.
Anything we do will certainly cover both Harringay & St Ann's wards.
And if we elect Jonathan Vellapah will South Harringay School get an Academy on site?
