Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Can anyone recommend a catflap fitter / landscape gardener / guitar teacher

I am looking for someone to fit a catflap, re-model our garden and also teach guitar to my son.

It doesn't have to be the same person - I just thought I'd put them in the same post.

Any advice gratefully received!

My friend who lives in North London had a catflap fitted by Michael Watson tel 07850 610886 www.catflapman.co.uk

If your cat is microchipped, I would recommend SureFlap or PetPorte catflaps.

Hi Paulie

I'm currently half way through a garden design course and would be happy to help with the design and draw plans for free if you haven't got plans yet .  It will help me build a portfolio.

I also run a gardening business so I have practical experience and can offer advise.  Send me a message if you're interested.

For the garden, I can recommend Andy from Gardens of London. He lives locally and his number is 07826819753

We found a fantastic guitar teacher  for our 8-year old son (he started when he was 6 and has been doing it for over 2 years). His name's Kermit, we found him through recommendations on HOL and his number is 07813 106263.

How old is your son? And has he played before?

To be clear, we found our guitar teacher Kermit through HOL, not our son!

Hi Bushy, thanks for the replies. I got what you meant about finding the teacher through HOL! My son is eight and he hasn't played before. Although he did (reluctantly) play piano for about a year. Still, he's said he wants to learn guitar, and I've always played without learning formally, so I thought we would give it a go..

Definitely worth calling Kermit then. He's super-cool with kids (he's a session musician, after all). But one thing to note is that he doesn't teach traditional guitar (the standard levels) or how to read music in case that's your aim. Instead, he focusses on having fun, learning chords, familiar songs and just enjoying it. Seems to be working for ours so far. If you can do the practising with him, he should make great progress. Good luck. (PS Tell him Jackson's dad sent you!).
