Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Beard wearers, Keith Flett and Justin Hinchcliffe, were at Wood Green to warn shoppers about the dangers of bogus bearded Santas in the run up to Christmas this weekend.

The Campaign for Real Santas, which campaigns for Santas to have genuine organic or knitted beards, has warned people that with a fortnight until Xmas, the numbers of bogus Santas with absurd false beards in High St shops is proliferating alarmingly.
It is estimated that the numbers of false bearded Santas is up 25% on the equivalent weekend last year.

The Campaign for Real Santas believes that only Santas with genuine, organic or knitted beards should be deputies for Santa, world famous for his organic beard, in the run up to Xmas.

Campaigners are urging parents and children to vigorously tug the beards of Santas they encounter as a definitive test as to whether they are in the presence of a real Santa or not. If the Santa is not real and the beard is made of cotton wool it will come away when tugged by the child.

CFRS organiser Keith Flett said, "We urge people to reject the easy consumerism of the false bearded Santa and go for the real organic model. I was pleased to be about with the Campaign in North London demonstrating what a real Santa looks like and the reception from the public was excellent"

I always knew the bugger was real. As usual, the big brother thought he knew better.

~I was just about to give the raised eyebrow smilie guy but then relised that it was in aid of Crisis at Christmas. This is a wonderful project that gives hospitality for seven days over the Christmas period.

Crisis at Christmas run day centres in different parts of London and have a massive shelter in East London where over five hundred people sleeping there. These people face homelessness as a reality most would be sleeping in the street if not for Crisis.

This project is volunteer lead and provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus lots of services like dentists, doctors etc etc. Guest can engage in lots of different activites during the day and many of the winter night shelters find their guest at the centre.

Well done!

I really love this. Go guys!
