Call centres to be fined for 'silent' calls (and some advice on dealing with them from OFCOM)
Don't know about you but my landline is plagued by these silent calls (and the recorded message ones). They are always a nuisance.
Now call centres are being threatened with a £2 million if caught.
Ah, there's my problem with this. How do you know where the calls are coming from? 1471 doesn't help and the Telephone Preference Service doesn't seem to prevent them.
Seems to me that better than penalty fines, they should stop call centres from using multiple dialling altogether
