Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Well done to the local lads who run Brouhaha. Following the demise of Autograf Green Lanes, Brouhaha will be moving in to the vacated premises and doubling in size. Initially there are no plans to knock through - but watch this space in the future.

Correct re Jam in a Jar. Should be opening their extension in the next few weeks! :)

A shame they can't just move into the Queen's Head...

Is the plan that it will be two separate places or are they going to be joined somehow?

I've had a couple of brief passing conversations about this with the boys over the past few months, but haven't gone into great detail. I was left with the impression that it may happen at some point in the future but its not on the cards imminently.

Was talking with one of the owners last night. At the moment the 2 premises will have 2 separate entrances but join at the back through the ground floor garden area. Looks good.

Maybe a bit off-topic right here, but on the subject of business diversity, has anyone any insight into the future of the two empty shops just by the Post Office (ex-bookie and ex-Santander)? I think a yoga centre (?) plan for the former fell through, but haven't seen anything about alternatives or any plans for the Santander site; both shops are also eyesores as well as looking very sad.

(Not to mention the strain the ATM's departure has put on the one at Tesco, which is forever out of service, presumably because it can't cope with the volume of users. But that really is a different topic!)

I've just checked with Rob at Harringay Traders and he tells me that Santander has been sold - fate TBA. Betfred is still on the market.

Thanks, Hugh. Something other than another catering outlet would make a change, but I suppose that's where the money is (though the Dogtas move suggests there are other options).

This is good news! I love what they’ve done with this place and their success is well deserved.

Great news however it can be a little too loud in the evenings for residents on what is already a loud road! particularly when the windows are fully open and tables and chairs are out front:

I agree it's fair enough if Brouhaha gets the chance to expand

what does concern me though is that they use Kata to supply food - Kata uses disposal wooden chopsticks

Alongside the campagin against plastic straws which is rightly gathering pace, we should also be taking action against this terrible waste which is causing deforestation

we've vowed to take our own reusable chopsticks along when we next decide to eat there and it would be great if more people did that

i'm surprised there isn't more of a public campaign about it though

You can start a campaign Robin re throw away chopsticks in general at change.org or at 38degrees.No need to wait for someone else to do so :)
