Now I dont normally start conspiracy theories but............
For the past three days my broadband (Orange) has been extremely slow and in some cases I just can't load things.
Today I received a letter AND a speculative phone call from BT Infinity. The caller informed me that there has been some work on the lines in the area to enable me to use BT Infinity via fibre optics.
I have not had any particular problem with my broadband until the BT upgrades. Two computers running fine.
Mmm.......

I have not had a problem with Orange as I am on Virgin, and while I don't want to start the many previous threads on Virgin's service I will say we were having terrible problems for ages with it dropping out. Several engineers came and one finally solved the problem- the cable did not have the right fitting to connect to the point at which the cable come into the house. All solved... Not quite. We have since had sporadic drop outs sometimes ranging from minutes to hours. I called Virgin last week and they checked the signal. Now it was too high, and apparently when it surged slightly too high the modem effectively cuts out (fuse like). I now have an attenuator to reduce the signal slightly. Let’s see if this works...
