Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Bringing up your family - best location, ... apparently.

The village of Winkleigh has been named the best place in the UK to bring up children. The West Country village has beaten 2,400 other postcodes across the UK to take the top spot in a survey of “family friendliness” by investment mutual Family Investments.

The survey is based on over 60 sets of data including crime statistics, childcare costs and the ratio of earnings to property prices, as well as lifestyle factors such as the proximity to green space, leisure centres and museums.

The small town of South Pemberton in Somerset came second in the poll, while the Lancashire village of Galgate came third.

The Family Friendly Hotspots Report found that Winkleigh – which is situated between Dartmoor and Exmoor - has a combination of low crime figures, strong Key Stage 2 education results and a low average property price of £150,837.

Top 20 locations. Sutton in London scores in the top 20.

Pop the first part of your postcode into this search box so you can 'explore your own postcode district and find out how your location scores within each element that's important to families'.

Full report.

All rather predictable.

Nick Wright I've been there several times and its not very nice at all.

No surprise Nick. Thought the same about Sutton. The shopping area a bit like a giant Shopping City only cleaner and sitting in a vast and confusing one way road system from hell. No soul.
