Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I came across this  whilst trying to find out what happened to the Khan Bros shop on Queen's Parade which has been taken over by new owners (I had no idea, I was in there 2 days before it closed down and have been a regular for emergency supplies of bread/milk/wine etc for years).

I also discovered that the fried chicken shop next door to Rainbow is up for sale too.

I'm surprised than B&B is up for sale after only a year.  To quote the owners

"we are the largest family owned, independent organic store in Harringay"

(not difficult tbh)

We thank you for your concerns and your good wishes, we are as surprised as everybody else on here. There will always be people saying things that are not true, however, rest assured that we are not planning to sell the shop as of yet.

I thank you again for your good wishes...

"we are as surprised as everybody else on here" sue them. A letter from a lawyer won't cost much if there's a chance that this will affect your business.

Thank goodness! I like the shop- ok I don't do my weekly shop but I do come in every other week and I prefer your cafe to other on Green Lanes. I like the light and space. I like the terrace and don't mind people smoking outside! I have friends who smoke and I'd rather sit with them there than having them, more social.

Plus the lovely guy in the shop who offers all sorts of great advice for various ailments, he's very kind and so knowledgeable. All the best B and B!

Agree with the other poster, am totally put off by the smoking on the terrace. You can easily control whether people smoke or not by making it a non smoking area. Simple!

Of course we can but the problem is, if we did make it a smoke free area, we would probably lose a lot of our cafe trade :(

Yes that's true, you might lose the smokers, but you would gain the non smokers! I remember when the smoking ban was brought in everyone was frightened they would go out of business but actually got busier as a result. Also in my experience of managing restaurants, pubs and cafes in the past the people who sat outside smoking did so for hours without actually spending much. I (as a past-time / some-time smoker) would certainly admit to this myself. I suppose it's down to image in the end really. If you're happy with what you do then it's up to you. It just is really odd though! Mind you I remember when I was little our GP used to smoke in his surgery so perhaps it's not so odd ;-)

:) Its not difficult, there are a few main business selling websites and if you filter by area, you can easily find it...

It is hard as Google is now running red hot with this article if you're interested.

I just used google and came across a generic website.  I was actually looking for a completely different business as I said in my OP.

And no, I didn't post a link.

Thank you so much!

Or your could pick up a Crop Drop bag from Blend and pop to B&B for the rest of your weekly shop.
Cropdrop.org.uk. A local social enterprise applying weekly veg bags, as local and organic as possible (some small local growers don't have the resources to get accredited), available in small or large sizes from various drop points around Haringey. They do fruit now too.

I also get fish on Thursdays from Sole Share, their drop point is Harringay Local Store. Probably the most sustainable, fresh fish available.
