Some familiar faces in the audience, for those who have attended public meetings in Harringay, St Ann's and wider Tottenham good to see too. Though public forums have unfortunately been abandoned by our council in Harringay and St Ann's, which is a great shame, but public meetings will go on, hopefully with the councils support.

Yes Vicky Coren was good as you'd expect her to be, but I was also very impressed with Jenny Jones who talked a whole lot of sense, and she had some interesting observations on Syria.

I'd really think those students had something wrong with them if they just meekly took the fee increases. The Guardian headline, as usual, bears no relation to the article.
Victoria Coren-Mitchell was probably in for her mate David Lammy.

Bring back Hornsey College of Art, it would exist in our front rooms informally to begin with, and we could give talks in each of our chosen specialisms, promoting adult learning and understanding. A hell of a commitment.

Does Victoria live in Tottenham? I would have requested at least one Tottenham politician, journalist or activist be on the panel, thankfully the audience was available.

Matthew, earlier this year the Council abolished Area Assemblies and Committees in all Wards.
It was claimed that they were poorly attended: but not in my experience.

Watching question time it is very professional, maybe we could have something like this through HoL with guest speakers and local politicians to capitalise the momentum and interest achieved during election time, it would help promote political issues on a regular basis for Haringey.

Matthew, local people organised hustings for the 2014 elections (link below) and HoL hosted an information and debate forum in 2010. If you're interested in doing something similar outside of election time give it a go.

Happy to contribute, as I have done at South Harringay Hustings in 2010, and North Harringay in 2014, your own pre election bucket list is also becoming a fixture, I look forward to your third on HoL.
I guess it's a matter of establishing regular debate, either topical or on Iocal issues, with correspondents to contribute, not necessarily party representatives but those with expertise in those areas, to expand our understanding rather than flex political muscle.
Maybe we should all rub shoulders more regularly to discuss politics in Harringay, & mull over the points of the day, a sharing and airing of views.
Momentum has attempted to do this, though it tends to be stemmed towards a Labour absorption, rather than a platform for thought and discussion, nothing to say that can't change,
I'd throw design into that discussion, it affects every aspect of our lives, and has the potential to improve Haringey's urban realm, when it is properly or simply considered.
I feel a sense of deja vu, have we had a discussion like this before? - Attachments:
