BBC Countryfile are filming a 'Cities Special' and will be interviewing Daniel Raven-Ellison who is currently campaigning for London to be given 'National Park' status. They plan to interview Daniel as he makes his case against a background of a volunteer group in action.
The friends of Parkland Walk are running an extra volunteer session on Friday 14th between 12.00 and 14.00 which will provide a backdrop to the filming. The tasks could range between litter picking, cutting back bramble and nettles that encroach the path, taking down saplings and repairing paths.
If you would like to take part in the work session, please contact info@parkland-walk.org.uk with the subject 'Friday work party'. Places will be limited to ensure the group is manageable and a sufficiency tools. In the event of too many volunteers priority will be given to those with previous experience.

And there was me thinking all these years that BBC Countryfake was totally natural, organic, unplanned, film-as-you-find, no stooges, no staged interviewing, no mock-ups, no extras. Now Parkland Walk will be invaded by bevies of gogglebox ignoramuses and bumpkins-for-an-hour who don't know a briar thicket from a bramble patch or one end of a slash hook from the other. Ah well, we live and sometimes we learn!
All television is fake. Especially documentaries
I going to be watching to see which one of them passed the audition.
Seems like someone needs to go back to school if they think anything on television can be completely organic and unplanned...
Would they like a beautiful young man to spontaneously step out of the bushes and shyly approach the presenter with a classic London countryside offer of a cup of tea and a lie down? Not saying I know one but that is a relatively common experience on the parkland walk that they should "document".
