The Barking - Gospel Oak Rail User Group have issued the following statement:-
CANCELLATIONS & DELAYS DUE TO FREIGHT TRAIN DERAILMENT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Due to a freight train derailment at Barking on Friday 23rd October, all London Overground Services between South Tottenham and Barking Riverside have been withdrawn and services between Gospel Oak and South Tottenham have been reduced to every 30 minutes. This is due to Network Rail prioritising the movement of freight trains over the one remaining track through Barking while track repairs take place at night.
NO RAIL REPLACEMENT BUSES ARE BEING PROVIDED
BGORUG is pressing TfL to activate Rail Replacement Bus " T " between Barking and Walthamstow Central where passengers could take the Victoria Line to Seven Sisters for nearby South Tottenham station. TfL are refusing this request.
BGORUG believe a limited London Overground service could operate to Barking avoiding the single track section but TfL refuses to consider this idea as well.
To keep up with any changes to these unsatisfactory arrangements, please check the BGORUG website at https://barking-gospeloak.org.uk Latest News page.
