Last week, my nature ramble across Tottenham was rained off, but a bit of rain didn't stop me from going in search of Mother Nature a bit closer to home the following day.
After a splendidly wet start
the sun emerged from behind the black clouds and I set off for a long walk around the block.
First stop was at the lovely purple verbena, still blooming in our bit of guerilla gardening
Up and along Wightman Road and I was met with a riot of autumn colour!
Arriving at Fairland Park, I started poking about in all the old wood to do a spot of insect bothering, but apart from a few bold wasps emerging into the warm sun, all I found was cobwebs.
Back along Fairfax, admiring their street trees under a new bright blue sky (yes it is the same day as the first photo!)
and down that unlikeliest but ever fruitful nature walking route, the Harringay Passage.
Grape leaves still growing strong,
red berries and a very happy snail (the nearest I got to wildlife that day apart from the wasps),
and an absolutely gorgeous display of red leaves as I neared home.
