Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Attack in Finsbury Park

A colleague of my wife was attacked in Finsbury Park around 5 pm one day about a week ago. I don't know the full details but he was cycling through the park on the path parallel to Seven Sisters Road when the man approached him, tried to take his bike, chased after him and struck him on the back with an unknown object. He was understandably shaken up but unhurt.

The victim called police when he got home.

I don't know if there have been any further incidents or if anyone has been arrested but anyone who uses the park after dark at the moment should take extra care.

I carry a snake bike chain around my neck to quickly convert to a quasi flail for exactly this sort of scenario.

Obviously this there is no excuse for such attack, but while I my usual way to work goes via Fini Park, I Never use it or any other parks after dark.

It's a park not an airport runway.... let the birds/animals at least get some respite from 24h daylight. Regular standard lighting on the pathways is quite sufficient, I would have thought.
