Assault on Wightman Road
Hi All,
I'm hoping someone will come forward as a witness to an assault that happened today on Wightman road at about 19:15.
I was cycling north when a red vovlo sedan (registration OE51 CZR) cut me off then braked suddenly and stopped for no reason and without indicating just after Seymour road. I could not stop in time and ended up striking the rear wing with my hand to avoid failing over (causing no damage).
The driver got out of the car and words were exchanged. I said I was going to call the police. I reached for my moile with both hands (I keep it in a ziped up pocket in the back of my cycling jersey so need both hands to get it) the guy shoved my violently in the throat with both hands knocking me over onto the cars parked on the side of the road. He then jumped in his car and drove off.
If anyone witnessed this please PM me as I have reported it to the police and witnesses will help in prosecution. I am unharmed, although a little sore and shaken.

I cycled in this morning with one ear from my headphones in so I could just squeeze the remote and say "call the police". If you are getting assaulted by drivers, what chance do I have (I'm a loud mouth and half your size)?
One thing that always ends a conversation with a driver for me is if I yell their registration numbers at them.
Please keep us posted on how you get on with the police.
