Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Some of you may be aware of the fungus that has spread across Europe and is threatening the UK's Ash trees. It is so important the government's emergency security committee (COBRA) is meeting to discuss the issue today after 100,000 ash trees were destroyed this week following confirmation of the fact the fungus has hit the UK's shores- http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-20176720. So far it has destroyed 90% of Denmark's ash trees apparently.

People are being asked to help in identifying possibly infected trees with guidance as to what to look for here and an app to help identification and reporting here.

Guess where we buy in Ash saplings from?  China!

3 million hectares of forest cover in the UK but not enough space to grow seedlings apparently.

I thought most came from Europe, which is hiw we have imported the problem. Had not realised we get saplings from China, but I guess we should not be shocked! What does not come from China these days?
