Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Dear All at Harringay on Line

Just a quick reminder that our next St. Ann's and Harringay Area Forum and Committee meeting will be on Monday 22 April from 6.30 - 9pm at the Cyprus Kitchen, 628-630 Green Lanes, N8 0SD.

As always I aim to have topical discussions which both inform people, and most importantly provide an opportunity for officers and Councillors to hear your views and ideas.  Currently in many areas of government deregulation is underway.  Is this a good thing and are criticisms of regulation always justified?  So our main topic for the meeting is focusing on: RULES AND REGULATIONS: RED TAPE OR SOCIAL NECESSITY?

Alongside the very prominent areas of regulation such as planning enforcement, licensing, waste and noise, there are areas like food safety and hygiene, trading standards, environmental health and many other areas where the Council has regulatory powers.  How effective are these, how are they applied and how can we as residents work with the officers to get the best for our communities?

As you know issues like planning enforcement, licensing of clubs and bars and other regulatory activities are hot local topics and can affect us all. I'm sure many people have strong views so I hope you will find time to come and participate and please do encourage your friends and neighbours to come along.
