My 9yr old is desperate to watch some matches on Sky Sports. Is there any where nice to take him (cafes etc) in the area?

Rowans is a bit rough and ready for a 9 yr old (although I suppose that depends on your 9 yr old!) The Old Dairy is a gastro-pub in Crouch Hill (just near the overground station) which caters for children of all sizes. Much more wholesome but a touch pricey. The last time I was there a G&T and a pint cost the best part of a tenner. Food's nice though. A good weekend option.

The Village in Muswell Hill (just at the top, close to the bus stop) is good. They also have pool tables, comfy sofas and do a nice proper pizza. We have taken our kids here a couple of times. Same with O'Neills in Mus Hill - the huge pub in the church.
What about the Bulgarian restaurant at 421 Green Lanes? They always show the games and your could get a coffee and a salad/grill. It is not built for footie atmosphere, but fits the bill without breaking the bank.

Also recommend the Old Dairy - I've watched the football with my 18 month old there (although spent most of the match chasing her around the pub!!) Often kids there watching the football on Sunday afternoon.
