Thanks for the sympathy. I can't believe no one else complained. The enforcement guy came round about 1.40am and then had a word so all was quiet again by about 2am. Suddenly I'm feeling like my ambitious plans to get stuff done today may not happen...
I know how you feel. Have had many a night like that where I am as well, and you do wonder when you're the only one complaining. Can't other people be bothered, are they deaf, do they have amazing earplugs...??
I tried earplugs, which worked up to a point - the occasional shouty singalong aspect of the noise, however, punctuated the rhythmic aspects of the pounding reggae, and woke me up several times. As far as being the only complainer, one can only suspect that people assume others will complain.
I have to give much credit to the enforcement guy - he was brilliant. He phoned me after having 'had a word' and told me that it was a wake, so now I feel a bit bad for complaining (though I'd have been very happy for them to play music INSIDE the house, rather than in the garden).
