Any recommendations for someone who can repair a wooden ornament?

We've broken a much loved wooden ornament - a break which needs mending and then some tricky gap filling & painting. We could do it ourselves but I suspect not very well. Before I embark on that, does anyone know anyone who specialises in this sort of thing? I've no idea where to even start looking. Thanks in advance.
