Any Experience of Electronic Writing Pads

I am looking to switch form paper note pads at work to electronic note taking pads as I often wish to keep notes as a recored.

Does anyone have any experience of using such a device and have any recommendations?

My work partner suggested I get a refurbished iPad as this would also give me all the functionality of an iPad too, but not sure if I need this..

Any thoughts most welcome.
